RightWave recommends cautious adoption.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Features<\/strong>, some long-awaited and available in competitor products, include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved user experience with an easier interface<\/li>\n<li>Template selection from a library and the ability to include modules in templates<\/li>\n<li>Improved template builder and email previewer<\/li>\n<li>Editing text versions of emails using a toggle button<\/li>\n<li>Variables allowed in Emails<\/li>\n<li>Easily moved, duplicated, and deleted elements<\/li>\n<li>Preview of desktop, mobile and text versions of the email<\/li>\n<li>Simple editing of pre-headers and the text version of emails. For more information on pre-headers and the importance of text versions for wearable technology, see the RightWave blog <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwave.com\/rwi\/email-reigns-but-must-cater-to-mobile-lessons-from-the-june-23-integrated-marketing-virtual-conference-and-other-sources\">Email Reigns<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nDrawbacks include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marketo API does not yet work with the new editor.<\/li>\n<li>Once the 2.0 Editor is enabled, any Draft 1.0 template that is approved will become an Email 2.0 version and cannot be changed back to Email 1.0.<\/li>\n<li>The Text version does not support variables.<\/li>\n<li>Videos do not work in older versions of Outlook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nFor those organizations that rely heavily on the Marketo API, RightWave recommends delaying Email 2.0 implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For all other organizations, RightWave recommends this process for upgrading to Marketo Email Editor 2.0:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Review and approve\/reject all changes queued for email templates and incorporate the approved changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Review all the active emails with custom coding and prepare a checklist.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that all personnel are thoroughly trained on the behavior of Email 2.0 before implementation is begun.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As admin user, click Email Editor Settings and select &#8216;New&#8217;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check Enable Marketo Starter Templates and click Save.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nRightWave is delighted to provide its customers with more details on the features, drawbacks, and implementation steps, and can assist in the process.
